Individual Therapy
If youre looking for a therapist to do individual therapy with, youre probably curious about how that works.
LOGISTICS: From a logistical standpoint, you hire me to help you work through some mental/emotional painful problems. Similar to hiring an M.D. to heal a physical pain, patients come to a psychotherapist because that emotional pain is interfering with their ability to function.

Issues I Work With: My specialty is working with adults who were abused as children emotionally, sexually, physically. I also work with: financial/abundance issues, adult children of alcoholics (ACAs) and adult children of narcissistic parents, grief and loss, spirituality, and mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and bipolar disorder.
Session Scheduling: I typically see you once a week for 50 minutes, at a time that is mutually convenient to both of us. I see clients Mondays through Thursdays, excluding Wednesday mornings. I schedule appointments from 9a to 9p Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, except for a lunch break. On Wednesdays, I schedule appointments from 3p to 9p.
Session Frequency: I see some patients more than once a week, but that is mutually determined and based on the need of the client.
Length of treatment is up to you and will vary depending on what the pain is. If you are working through a childhood trauma, your therapy will take longer than if you are just wanting help with a current life transition. Ask about this when we meet.
Fee: My fee is $140/session. Again, based on need, I can make some adjustment in my fee.
ORIENTATION: If youve read the page on How Therapy Works, then you know how I approach my work with clients. Its basically a cognitive/behavioral orientation. If you havent read it, I encourage you to do so. I want you to feel comfortable with my approach, and know what you are paying for.
I also incorporate other theories, such as Family Systems, Self Psychology, Inner Child, and various theories on couples work (See Couples Therapy).
HEALING our minds is one of the most important things that we can do to ensure a happy and rewarding life. What we believe, we create, and the good news is that because our beliefs were instilled in us after birth, they are mutable. Changing our beliefs about how the world and relationships work can result in a life that is worth celebrating. And whether you believe that you live once, or many times, why not make this one the best ever?
